The McFadden Legacy
Three Generations. One Sound.
The Foundation
Jimmy "Pops" McFadden
Jimmy "Pops" McFadden led a storied career working alongside Count Basie, Jay McShann, and Louis Armstrong as a member of the touring tap dancing group, Three Chocolate Drops. His artistry and spirit helped shape the sound and culture of Kansas City.
His footwork was legendary — a rhythmic conversation between body and music that drew audiences and fellow performers alike, cementing his place in the history of American entertainment.
The Next Generation
Ronald & Lonnie McFadden
Ronald and Lonnie McFadden carried forward the performance tradition established by their father, Jimmy "Pops" McFadden. Together, the brothers became part of Kansas City's entertainment landscape, blending musicianship, showmanship, and the family's deep roots in tap and live performance.
Lonnie McFadden built a career as a vocalist, trumpeter, tap dancer, and entertainer, later creating Lonnie's Reno Club as a home for Kansas City jazz and live music.
The Continuation
Chloe McFadden
The third generation of the McFadden entertainment legacy, Chloe carries forward a tradition rooted in jazz, tap, musicianship and live performance—while creating a voice and style distinctly her own.
The music didn't begin with me. I'm simply carrying it forward.
